Halloween - Part 2

Inspired by Merrilee's blog, I made an effort to stiched a Halloween Mask. Big R should wear it to his school's Halloween Disco, but since he had to stay on his bed, he had no chance to show it to everyone.
So, I took the liberty to show-off my masterpiece (thanks Mer!) here, wore by big R a few days ago...

Halloween - Part 1

As we never celebrate Halloween before, I found myself in the middle of Halloween mood since some of my customers asked for hand-made and special Halloween costumes.

I manage to made a mask for Big R's school Halloween Disco -which was happen on this Friday night -.

Big R wasn't very lucky though, he caught flu and coughing a lot since yesterday, and Halloween Disco not even close.

Bit sad, of course. Things happened.

(Hand-made Wasp)

As explained in Wildlife of Sydney, Wasps are kind of insect feed on other insect or spider. Not this cutie on the pictures. Big R made it on his art class last week, happily transported home, just to get crunched by Little Miss R.

(Cute vandalism)

This is what happened when you have –putting it all together- brainy and talented people had nothing to do over the weekend.

My husband fiddling fingers seems can’t stop working, my daughter yellow bench was his latest victim (as his confession, he get bored with journals and articles and research, nothing better than vandalism, and this very unfortunate object calling him to do so)

Leftover from last party

As my son big R a.ka Rama turned 7 years old two days ago -with no party whatsoever-; I felt like rumbling into my pictures folder to get leftover from last party.
I found some pictures from his party two days ago, my crafty side was overtaking me, so I happened to produce bit of glorious food and decoration -glorious in my term means home-made cupcakes-.
(All this pictures below featured in Ayahbunda Magazine, Birthday Edition - 2009)

The Herald, finally

After almost a year wanting to read printed-version of Sydney Morning Herald, I finally got one delivered to my door on Saturday. There is a company organizing papers from all around the world, including Sydney Morning Herald.
The downside is-expensive, of course- it's only one main Saturday paper without it's bulky supplementary section; also it comes on BLACK and WHITE!
I never realized that even when I walked into this company putting my name down and there were array of papers from countries displayed in black and white -I just realized it when I got it on my hand.
It still had me jumping for joy, for sure, but now it got me thinking, what it will look like for The Sydney Magazine -that I subscibing too- with it glossy and colorful papers? Will it come in Black and White -which is no point flicking on page by page of black and white magazine, that's the thing I'm not into.
I better ring this company now.

Little treasure…

One of my loyal customers asked me if I could make her couple of Halloween Costumes for her children. I never celebrate it before, let alone knowing the date. After flicked hundreds pages to get the idea...here I go…
Hit the “Pasar Mayestik” a.k.a Majestic Market –famous for its shops selling fabric- in early hour, it’s kind of nice feeling knowing not many people around yet many shops are open. I knew where I have to shop, took me only 15 minutes to tick all fabric on my list, I spent another 15 minutes having a good look inside the shop. I was amaze on their piled of fabrics, despite their antic staffs that seems impatient while customers take their time to check those fabrics –I kept getting question: anything else? ; Maybe dozens time while my eyes frantically scanned one pile to another; I only had little amount of time to spent-.
I went home happy, not only I got what I need, I managed to buy some fabric to thirst my idea; of course the large theme still Halloween…
Here what I found…
Fabrics….orange dominant…

I fall in love with this orange-asymmetric style…stand out from the crowd; its design is Scandi look alike which I never expect to see in a shop in Majestic Market-

Teamed-up with my IKEA’s tin, look perfect –my daughter seems to like it too-
